Howdy y’all, I’ll be at SXSW this week in Austin, Texas this week. LMK if you’re around!

New Year = New Podcast Art
I’ve been wanting to channel my creative energy again. I miss writing a book. This newsletter aims to address that void and spread insights from entrepreneurial walks of life. Share it, thumbs up, etc if you found value.
Consumer AI Tools Are Changing Daily Life

Live on Popup.fm
A year ago, ai was just a hype and buzz word to me. Yes, I’ve ridden a Waymo in San Francisco and know machine learning and AI are big aspects of the technology but outside of that, I was not paying attention to it.
In an interview I did with UC Berkeley Skydeck’s Executive Director, Caroline Winnett, I learned from a VC and major accelerator director that generative AI was booming. Now, I am learning about agentic artificial intelligence. I’ve also interviewed Ali Dastjerdi, the founder of Raylu.ai and Paul Cecil from ReAlpha who spoke in depth of ways Ai makes a huge difference for their companies and workflows.
Last month: I interviewed Raffaela Rein on a new platform called Popup.fm
She discussed AI agents and their numerous capabilities. We also heard about how she met President Obama, and how her company Boardlens uses ai agents to make life easier for board members.
Raffaela was a 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗚 in Germany.
Where she Advised the executive team on sustainability strategy and digital transformation.
I have basically replaced Google searches with ChatGPT and Claude ai tools. I find it nice to not have to sift through ads and links. How are you playing with LLMs and what’s the most impressive way you’ve seen them used?

Mindset Matters
Momentum Matters More and More: Ever play a sport or a game where you felt like things were going your way? Then all of a sudden your coach calls timeout. A prime example of this was in the Super Bowl when the 49ers played the Ravens. The lights went out in the third quarter and the 9ers came back and made it a close game. When running a business, momentum needs to be capitalized on, consistently.
Growing Pains mean you’re trying: While society only cares about your success most of the time. They’ll never 100% know the full picture of the struggles that came before it. When trying to publish Startup Mindsets, there were many nights of no publishers giving us offers and a less than 50% complete manuscript. Give yourself grace for pursuing something novel.
Passion Pays in other ways: I’ve done data entry jobs, worked as a cashier, delivered food in the past. But it wasn’t until I became an entrepreneur that I discovered that doing what I love, which is talking to interesting people in podcast format that the payment was the genuine connections built. Also, we just made over a thousand dollars in a day via sponsors doing this. No job gives me better excitement and stress haha.
Movie/Book Quotes that Stand Out
"You can dream of a moment for years and still somehow miss it when it comes. You've got to reach through the flames and take it, or lose it forever. I took it. So did my mother. We never looked back." -
“There comes a time in every life when the past recedes and the future opens. It's that moment when you turn to face the unknown. Some will turn back to what they already know. Some will walk straight ahead into uncertainty. I can't tell you which one is right. But I can tell you which one is more fun."
"The saddest thing in life is wasted talent, and the choices that you make will shape your life forever.”
We’re sold at Walmart and Target now. Even if you’ve already bought the book, it’d be great if you gave us an honest review. We’re at 30 on Amazon and we like hearing feedback.

That does it for this edition, til next time - Dan
